Our Team

The Saint Lucia High Performance Center will comprise a minimum of 16 high-profile players who have represented Saint Lucia and or the Windward Islands at the senior or U19 level with the capacity to continue training and playing at a high level. Players will be contracted on a one-year basis, which at the end will be evaluated to determine players’ eligibility to continue or be replaced.

  • John Eugene - Head Coach

    John Eugene, an accomplished cricket coach, now holds the prestigious position of Head Coach at the High Performance Center, marking a new chapter in his illustrious coaching journey. As a Level 3 coach, John's coaching prowess has been showcased through various leadership roles. His recent appointment follows a distinguished coaching career, including being the Head Coach of the Castries Central Cricket Team and Assistant Coach for the Saint Lucia Kings. John's commitment to cricket development extends beyond national borders, having served as the Assistant Coach for the Windward Islands Volcanoes. His impact on youth cricket is evident, having led the St Lucia National Under 15 and Under 19 teams, as well as the Windward Islands Under 15 team. Notably, he has been at the forefront of grassroots development through the John Eugene Cricket Academy since 2012. A former player and captain for St Lucia and the Windward Islands, John's international playing experience includes captaining the West Indies Under 23 team and representing the West Indies A Team. His influence also reached international leagues, showcasing his skills in England, Trinidad and Tobago, and as the only centurion in the Sanford T20 Tournament. As the Head Coach at the High Performance Center, John Eugene's exceptional leadership, coaching acumen, and extensive cricketing background are poised to shape the future of the team and contribute significantly to the development of cricket in the region.

  • Dalton Polius - Assistant Coach

    Dalton Polius, our newly appointed Assistant Coach at the High Performance Center, brings a wealth of expertise with a Level 2 coaching certification and a distinguished coaching career. Currently serving as the Head of Cricket at Entrepot Secondary School, Dalton is at the forefront of developing cricket-related activities within the school. His leadership extends to coaching both the under 15 and under 19 teams, where he plays a vital role in shaping the future of cricket within the school and fostering a cricketing culture. As a Coaching Consultant for the Grande Riviere After School Cricket Program, Dalton shares his passion for the game by creating engaging coaching sessions for children aged 5 to 11. His dedication goes beyond coaching, as he actively identifies local natural talent and promotes the sport among school children in the community. Dalton's coaching experience is not confined to local endeavors. With stints at renowned cricket academies and clubs internationally, including Revolution Coaching in London, England, Mill Park Cricket Club in Australia, and Salland Cricket Club in the Netherlands, he has honed his coaching philosophy. Dalton specializes in one-on-one coaching sessions, focusing on refining batting techniques, bowling skills, and wicket-keeping, along with fostering teamwork and overcoming obstacles to active participation. Having achieved a Level 2 certificate in Coaching Cricket in 2016, Dalton's coaching journey has seen him mentor small groups of children at Haverigg Cricket Club in England, providing detailed feedback for their development. Dalton Polius brings his global perspective, coaching acumen, and commitment to player development to the High Performance Center, contributing to our mission of fostering cricketing excellence.

  • Junior Derose - Assistant Coach

    Junior Derose, a seasoned cricket coach, brings a wealth of expertise to the role of Assistant Coach at the High Performance Center, where he has recently been welcomed as a valuable addition to the team. With a decade of coaching experience, Junior's journey began with three years at the cricket association before dedicating seven years to the Ministry of Sports. His significant contributions include a four-year role as the Manager/Assistant Coach for the St Lucia Under 15 team, along with active involvement in various local franchise clubs, Dream 11, St Lucia Premiere League, local cricket, and after-school programs. Recognized for his wealth of knowledge and practical skills, Junior is celebrated as a team player with exceptional organizational abilities, making him an asset to the High Performance Center. Armed with Level 1 and Level 2 CWI coaching education, Junior's dedication to cricket coaching and development is a driving force in elevating the team to new heights

  • Chief Executive Officer/ General Manager High Performance​

    The CEO will be a senior expert with a minimum of ten (10) years experience in and around the management of Sports in St. Lucia.

  • Physiotherapist/ Sports Therapist

    Part time employee with responsibility for the medical wellbeing of the players. He is responsible for the analysis, assessments, rehabilitation and maintenance of fitness of players.

  • Trainer

    Full time employee with responsibility for obtaining and maintaining fitness standards, conducting warmup, cool down, nutrition and other functions relating to the physical wellbeing of players. His main responsibility is to prepare players for the physical demands of the full-time program.

  • Psychologist

    Part time employee with responsibility for mental aspects of the players. Main responsibility would entail developing motivation, resilience, goal setting, mental toughness etc. of the players in the St. Lucia High Performance Center.
